Laura Megroz said that when she began to design a new, round rug of the Trout design, she felt inspired to make it a bit fresher and brighter, removing one of the brown borders and replacing the entire edge with five stripes of complementary colors: enclosing all is a rich black border; a moss green sits inside that; the subtle, original brown that carries the fly fishing fly designs within it; then a bold red stripe; and ultimately a rich mustard yellow. Each element is thin and adds just the right amount of punch to this rug that has, in the middle, colorful trout swimming on a field of black.

“When I saw what Laura had come up with for the round version of the Trout design, I loved it!” said Henry Chandler, the company president. “We renamed it River Fish and carried the changes through the entire line of trout rugs. It is a fabulous refinement of a design that we have carried for 10 years. The new 4' wide Trout bench is even gussied up with a leather accent strip around the border,” said company president Henry Chandler.
