Fishing for Design
Where do we get the ideas for our hooked wool pillow and rug designs? We look around us. Everything at Chandler 4 Corners is designed in Vermont and many pieces reflect our vibrant, verdant surroundings.
The Battenkill is a world-renowned river that, in many ways, defines our region. It is a recreational and site-seeing mecca, but it is also one of the most famous trout fishing destinations in the Northeast. So it is no coincidence that Orvis, the fly-fishing lifestyle purveyor, has its flagship store here in our home town of Manchester.
Among the small streams that feed the Battenkill, is Bourne Brook, which runs directly behind the Chandler 4 Corners offices. It is a part of our workday - the constant gentle ripple. This year, we “borrowed” the river’s name for a beautiful new rug design: Fishing on the Battenkill.
How many of our products feature river-related images? A lot. Canoes, paddles, fishermen, and trout. Plus boats, buoys and anchors that you can find on nearby Lake Champlain.
Did I mention there are 4 covered bridges over the Battenkill... hmmmm. Perhaps a new design idea?
